WritePad App Reviews

Ive read the instructions and it seemed easy enough, however even with the directons to erase all that text.... It wouldnt erase when I did it. I tried the diagonal select all swipe..... Nothing and there was no edit for me to highlight. Too bad I really wanted to try it, it seems as tho the ones who are getting it to work really like it!!

And now with a keyboard its a much better package. I dont always use this app, but its fun to compose emails. One must practice, and allow the program to learn your writing style: it seems to do best with my cursive rather than print. As I said in the title, the text select is the best: double tap to select a word, easy to select a range, and a Select All feature-- every text-based app should have this. The developers get 5 stars for this feature alone!! So, maybe still a few things to work out, but very impressive. Im using it now to relearn what is for me the lost art of cursive writing.

This is pretty cool but I wish their was like a Q card setting so when your trying to memorize a speech or something you could. But I still think this is cool :)

Great app. I got a good idea for a new app though, Im not sure if apple will allow it but it would be sweet if you or sombody else made an app that grouped apps in one square to lessen the amount of pages needed for all our apps. And it could have namable sections and u could custumize which app goes where mabye even have the option for a passcode in it, I would love that one and I bet it would become an instant hit.

Horrible. The long page of instructions cant be deleted. Waste of time. Good effort though.

Very cool idea. Love the copy paste feature and the gesturing took me very little time to pick up.

For those of us who bought the iPod touch, we didnt get it cuz we have nothing better to do with $ 520.00, we bought it for the TOUCH FUNCTION! this app utilizes it perfectly.

This app is hard to use. I wish I hadnt tried it. Its good that its free because it would be horrible to pay for. Try it, and you wont like it. Dont buy it if it comes up to $1!!!!!!

This is a very impressive app - hard to believe its free! Ive been using it since version 1.1, and it keeps getting better and better. Recognition accuracy has definitely improved, and when I added my user dictionary (I saved my MS Word custom dictionary as a text file, & used DigiDNAs free DiskAid to move it to the iPhone from my MacBook Pro) it works quite well - I can finger-write faster than I can type with it. Also, with the keyboard option one can easily write words that WritePad fails to recognize, and add them to the dictionary using the Recognition window. There still are a few bugs, such as unpredictable crashes when making two successive rapid backstrokes - I have suggested they add an auto-save option so that one doesnt lose the whole document when this happens. Ive been very impressed with the developers receptivity to suggestions and bug reports. It has tons of features and it is worth spending an hour or so reading the manual to take full advantage of these and to learn key gestures to select text, bring up a punctuation panel, etc. With a good auto-suggestion lookahead-type feature such as the one used by Google (better still, WordComplete for Palm OS) that offers suggestions for word or phrase completion, it would merit a definite 5 stars!

This App has great potential. I would rather use my finger to write out a word over typing those little tiny button keyboards any day. The only disappointing thing is that its not integrated with the rest of the touch as an alternative input for all programs. I was impressed that it can read my words better than I can! Also a glitch in the Shorthand list will allow you to rename your shorthand to start with a symbol even though you cant create one with a symbol (Useful for +ve & -ve type shorthand). All & All great App and I look forward to seeing updates.

I dont see the use of this app...

When u write with your hand I just hope that it stays like that because, then there r no point of writing withir hand when u can just type it. But very good app

The program is completly useless. I dont see the point of writing it by hand and wait for conversion while you could just type it with a landscape keyboard. If what you write but by hand stays as it is, it will make a sense to the program.

It has lots of bugs yet but please dont stop working ok it. I will some day me happy to pay for this. Suggestions 1. Make auto list optional. I want to write my own from scratch. 2. Needs better error trapping 3. Allow default loading of file ie: To Do List that can be added to 4. Needs auto-save for those frequent crashes A diamond in the Rough. Way to go!!!

Is there any possible way to recover files?? If not, they should totally consider it to be added to the app... for clumsy people and because the bugs on the app add the same files twice. Please help me!

Easy to use and the cut and paste is good...recognizes all handwriting. Cool!

I did a restore on my itouch and the new version wont load up. Lost a lot of data. Please Help!
